Big Boys Update

The boys have been busy the last few weeks with many projects and assignments.

Here they had to create posters on character education traits. They both picked being helpful to others. I would agree this is one of their best traits. We had to include pictures and write a paragraph explaining how they do help others.

Their school also hosted a safe indoor Trick or treat night this week. They really enjoyed seeing their friends in costume.

It was starting to feel like fall here in WV but then it is starting to get back up to 80 degrees in the afternoons. We've had a strange fall so far.

Kase turns ONE!!

Our baby turned ONE yesterday (October 21st, 2016)

Life just flies by.

I pray I am doing everything I can to ensure my boys are happy and knowledgeable about The Lord.

I pray this for Kase too.

He is a sweet boy. He loves his brothers and parents.

He loves to eat! Does not like to be put to sleep.

Kipton (our 2nd son at his 1st birthday)

Karson (Our 2nd son at his 1st birthday)

I think all of our boys have similarities. I love them so much!

Happy Birthday Kase Garrett. WE couldn't love you more!

Revealed! DIY Built in Bookshelves

When we built our house 5 years ago, the plans called for built in bookshelves in the living room. It was to be the focal point of the room.

As many of you know, living on one income always comes with challenges. One of them was that we didn't really need the built ins at the time of the house building, because we had to stay on budget.

So we waited.

5 years went by, and we were still waiting. But, no rush. It would come.

Then some friends came over for dinner from our new church. (we switched churches this summer, that's another post) During that dinner we found out the husband is very handy at building. So he offered his help! My husband is handy, but not with carpentry. This was a huge blessing to us!

We stayed within our allotted budget for this project, and the labor was free.

Can you hear me screaming YIPPEE!! :)

It took them two evenings to complete the project.

I am so happy with the final completed project! It has been a huge blessing to have this completed.

Behind the shelves is bead board.

I love decorating for fall, and I had all of these trinkets already. My mom really loves Halloween, and gave a few pieces for the boys to enjoy.

It turned out way better than I ever dreamed. I had them drill a small hole in the bottom shelf so that I can plug in things like a little lamp, or maybe lights for Christmas.

Hope you enjoyed!
